I started out covering the local music scene in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, which included a lot of sweaty venues, debut records, and late nights. But my curiosity didn’t stop at sound. I’ve written about the people, culture, and small moments that give Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky their pulse. Whether profiling an up-and-coming artist or digging into community stories, my work always comes back to the voices of real people and honest stories.

Sister Patricia Mukanyonga’s orphanage in Muhororo, Rwanda, doesn’t have running water. Children have to climb a hill, the length of three football fields, four times a day to get water from a small spigot that drips slowly. Providing a simple solution to this problem has become the mission of a team of Greater Cincinnati engineers.

Music: Jammed on Main?

Last year, around the time of the Cincinnati Entertainment Awards in November, there was a mantra flooding the local music scene: "Music has become our finest export and our best ambassador."
